ABOUT US
Inspired by Disrupting Whiteness: University of Cape Town, we are a coalition of students, faculty, and staff at Stanford University who are dedicated to ending racism and white supremacy. Motivated by unpunished shootings of black and brown individuals, racism, white apathy, and more, we believe it is the responsibility of white people to educate each other about institutional and individual racism in order to end race-based oppression in society.
OUR MISSION
|
Why?
Racial justice requires the intentional education about things that we, as white people, aren’t required to learn about: stuff like white privilege, global history of colonization, & how to even talk about all this in the first place. White students can & should do a lot more than we currently do in when it comes to race education and anti-racist action. We all want to make an impact on the world, and it’s vital that white students go out into said world with a critical mindset for racial justice. Disrupting Whiteness envisions a campus where all students learn about how white supremacy functions in society today, and how to combat it institutionally and individually.
